Since disassembling my “studio” to bring in a couch in it’s place I’ve wanted to take more photos of my figures. Figures. Trying to keep some semblance of creativity I messed about with Lightroom and turned this into the above photo. I like how it turned out, could probably use some more work touching up bits of it, perhaps removing the yellow tones from places I’d rather not wish them to be, but it’s good enough for a bit of fun.
I wouldn’t normally make a post for something like this, but since Twitpic decided to make this image vanish I figured I’d put it somewhere they couldn’t do that. Perhaps it was a bit too racy, who knows.
Never in my life have I ever been more jealous of someone than at this moment during my recent trip to Colorado. If I had my choice I wouldn’t wear so much yellow, but I wouldn’t not wear that much yellow if it meant I could be in his place.
Rode down to Niagara Falls last Tuesday to take a look around. I’ve been there a number of times in the past as it’s not all that far from where I live. In fact, I used to ride my bicycle there from a town down the river called “Niagara on the Lake”, another tourist trap but a very pretty little town none the less. Was a very different experience on the motorcycle, things that seemed so far before were too close.
This past Thursday I decided to check out a bike meet in downtown Toronto. I went with a couple of friends and they’d hyped up the event claiming hundreds of bikers would be showing up. I didn’t really believe them to be honest but I figured I’d go anyway and be social. I was a bit surprised at just how many people did show up, not quite hundreds in the plural but definitely a lot!
Been thinking of taking this ride for a while and decided to finally get ‘er done today. I think it might have been a bit ambitious, a sport bike can be pretty hard to sit on for great lengths and today I did ~550 km / ~340 miles. While I was there I grabbed lunch and watched the Chi-cheemaun arrive, a ferry I’d ridden once when I was perhaps 6 years old. Never realized it was in Tobermory until today. It looks like I have to go back there though, I was talking with a grandma and she told me about a bunch of things I need to check out. Such as the grotto at Cyprus Lake, as well as the glass bottom boat to see all the ship wrecks, among other things.
Did a whole bunch of cleaning today and through it ended up finding the perfect place and angle for Houmei to sit. Now, I’m a bit disappointed she’s out in the open where dust can get at her, but you really can’t beat this angle. Well, maybe if the shelf was just a little lower […]
During my Houmei photoshoot I stopped down my Sigma EX 105 mm f/2.8 DG Macro lens to f/45 for a shot in an attempt to capture more focus into the frame. This often turns out to be more of a pain than I think it will be as it reveals every piece of dust that has affixed itself to my sensor. And in addition to each piece of dust, revealed also are the streak marks from the many attempts to clean the sensor.
